The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club have acquired forward Colton Kroeker from the Regina Pats in exchange for a third round draft pick in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft.
Kroeker, 18, is a right-hand shot centre-ice man who is 6’3” and 181-pounds. He has registered 13 points (8g-5a) and eight penalty minutes in 37 games this season for the Pats. In 52 games during the 2014-2015 season, the 1997-born forward scored six points (3g-3a) along with six penalty minutes.
“We are really happy to add Colton. He’s a big player with some skill and will fit nicely into our group,” said Hurricanes General Manager, Peter Anholt. “He’ll be a nice depth guy for us and with him being a 1997 we will have him for a few more seasons.”
The Surrey native was originally a seventh round draft pick (134th overall) in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft. In 2013-2014, Kroeker scored 58 points (24g-34a) in 28 games with the Delta Hockey Academy.
Kroeker is expected to make his debut on Wednesday when the Hurricanes travel to Swift Current to face the Broncos.
