The Lethbridge Hurricanes put a two-game winning streak on the line tonight when they host the Regina Pats at the ENMAX Centre at 7:00pm.
The Hurricanes are coming off a 7-0 victory on Friday night over the Medicine Hat Tigers to improve their record to 4-2-0-0 on the season – it was the Hurricanes first shutout over the Tigers since September 26th, 2008 when Juha Metsola stopped all 19 shots in a 1-0 overtime victory.
The ‘Canes take on the Pats who picked up a 6-2 decision last night in Medicine Hat against the Tigers. Regina is off to a 4-3-0-0 start to the year and have won three straight games entering play tonight. The Pats have scored 17 goals in their last three outings.
Tonight is the first of four meetings on the season between the Hurricanes and Pats, the ‘Canes posted a 1-3-0-0 record against Regina last year.

Winning Dominance: The Hurricanes enter play tonight with a 4-2-0-0 record through six games. In those four wins, the Hurricanes have outscored the opposition by a whopping 22-4. That’s an average of 5.50 to 1.00. The Hurricanes have also posted a 3-1-0-0 record against Eastern Conference opponents.
Sittler Pushing Skinner: Inner competition is a great thing, especially in the crease, and so far Jayden Sittler has been pushing Stuart Skinner for the “starter’s” job. The 19-year-old from Red Deer has made five consecutive appearances and enters play tonight with a 1.24 goals against average and a .953 save percentage.

Tale of Two Teams: The Regina Pats, who racked up 85 points a year ago, are off to an up-and-down start to the season. The Patricia’s played five of their first six games at home and posted a 3-3-0-0 record through those six games, but were shutout twice. The Pats scored just four goals in their first four games but added 11 in their final two home games before kicking off a five-game Central Division road trip.
Roster Notables: Rookie Lane Zablocki is off to a great start to his WHL career having put up a point-per-game in his first six games, including four goals. 16-year-old Jake Leschyshyn, who was acquired from Red Deer, has one assist in his first five games. While, Trygve Many Guns has appeared in one game. The product from the Siksika Nation is a big customer standing 6’4” and weighing 239 pounds – he wears #25.
