Hockey Canada announced Monday that Lethbridge Hurricanes rookie standout goaltender, Stuart Skinner, is one of 34 netminders invited to attend the 10th annual Program of Excellence Goaltending Camp, June 12-14, at Canlan Ice Sports in Etobicoke, Ontario.
Skinner is one of seven under-18 goalies invited to the camp that are candidates for Canada’s National Men’s Under-18 Team. The Edmonton, Alberta, product joins four other WHL goaltenders at the camp including Portland’s Adin Hill, Brandon’s Jordan Papirny, Moose Jaw’s Zach Sawchenko, and Everett’s Carter Hart.
As a 16-year-old rookie, Skinner posted a record of 13-20-2-3 while collecting a .909 save percentage and a 3.69 goals against average with one shutout in 43 appearances in 2014-2015. He was also named the Hurricanes Rookie of the Year.
