The Break DownThe Lethbridge Hurricanes wrap up a three game road trip through the US Division this afternoon against the Everett Silvertips at Xfinity Arena. The Hurricanes are currently 0-1-1-0 in the first two games of the trip after falling last night in Portland 5-2.

The Hurricanes saw Carter Amson score his first WHL goal in the losing cause a night ago. Amson, the Radisson, SK, product had gone 67 career games without a goal. It was also his first point since September 27th/2013 in Kootenay. Giorgio Estephan scored the other goal.

The Silvertips are coming off a disappointing 7-0 effort last night in Seattle. The US leading ‘Tips will also play their third game in as many days today.

What To WatchLethbridge Point of View

Finally!: Finally Carter Amson has scored a WHL goal. It only took him 67 career games and almost two seasons, but last night the 18-year-old potted a rebound passed Adin Hill. It was his first point since September 27th/2013 when he picked up an assist in Kootenay. Amson had a few more looks after the goal as well.

Need Points: The Hurricanes wrap a three game in three day trip today and are 0-1-1-0 in the first two points. The Hurricanes, who haven’t beaten a US division opponent this season, will look to get a win in the final game before heading back to Lethbridge after the game.

Everett Point of View

Scherbak’s Sick: At the start of the year, the Everett Silvertips made a move to acquire Nikita Scherbak from the Saskatoon Blades and what an addition he’s been. The Russian sniper leads the ‘Tips in scoring with 68 points (23g-45a) in 53 games this season. In three games last year with the Blades against the Hurricanes, Scherbak scored seven points (4g-3a)..

Angry Tips Team: After a 7-0 whalloping last night to the hands of the Seattle Thunderbirds at ShoWare Center, you can bet that the Silvertips will be an angry bunch today. Something that might play against the Hurricanes, but it could also be something that play into the hands of the ‘Canes. Kevin Constantine’s club will be playing with some fire today.
