Sittler comes to the Hurricanes after appearing in 10 games with the Royals where he posted a record of 2-6-0-0, but had an impressive 2.29 goals against average and .921 save percentage with one shutout.
The native of Red Deer, Alberta, started the season playing in the Alberta Junior Hockey League (Junior-A) with the Fort McMurray Oil Barons where in six games, he posted a 4-2-0-0 record with a 2.79 goals against and .907 save percentage with one shutout.
Last year, Sittler played on Red Deer Chiefs Midget AAA team alongside Hurricanes defenseman Andrew Nielsen. Sittler collected a 2.03 goals against and a .913 save percentage with the Chiefs last season.
The addition of Sittler, forces the subtraction of Zac Robidoux. Appearing in 19 games this season with the Hurricanes, Robidoux posted a record of 1-12-3-0 – his only win coming October 29th against the Prince Albert Raiders. The 18-year-old Robidoux had a 4.48 goals against and a .881 save percentage. The Morden, Manitoba, product has been reassigned to the Portage Terriers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (Junior-A). Terriers are hosting the Royal Bank Cup this year – the National Championship for Junior-A.

The Lethbridge Hurricanes announced Thursday they have acquired goalie Jayden Sittler from the Victoria Royals in exchange for a 7th round WHL Bantam Draft pick in 2016.
At 6’0 and 184 pounds, Lethbridge Hurricanes Head Coach and GM Peter Anholt expects the 1996-born netminder to be a veteran presence in goal. “He’ll be able to compliment Stuart Skinner; push him in practice as well offer him support as we move forward.”
Sittler spent the past two seasons with the Red Deer Chiefs in the Alberta Midget Hockey League. Last season he posted a record of 12-4-2 with a 2.03 GAA and a .913 save percentage. He was also part of the Chiefs team that made a run and captured the 2013 TELUS Cup.
With the acquisition of Sittler, the Hurricanes have assigned Zac Robidoux to the Portage Terriers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. Robidoux appeared in 19 games this season with a 4.48 GAA and .881 save percentage.
The Hurricanes acquired the 1996-born Robidoux from Medicine Hat in exchange for a 3rd round pick in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft as well as a conditional 4th round pick in 2017. Robidoux was the Tigers 6th round pick (124th overall) in 2011 and he played with Portage last season posting a record of 17-9 with a 2.19 GAA and a .924 save percentage in 27 games.
