The Break Down

The Lethbridge Hurricanes host Riley Sheen and the Red Deer Rebels tonight at the ENMAX Centre on the 19th annual Canadian Tire Teddy and Toque Toss.

The Hurricanes are coming off their third straight loss, and 12th of their last 13 last night in Swift Current as the Broncos picked up a 5-2 win. Taylor Cooper and Zane Jones scored the goals in the game for the ‘Canes while Stuart Skinner and Zac Robidoux combined to make 39 saves.

The Rebels are coming off a 2-1 win a night ago over the Moose Jaw Warriors a night ago. Red Deer enters have won six of their last ten games and currently hold down third place in the Central Division.

What To Watch

Lethbridge Point of View

Who Will Score the Goal?: The Teddy Bear Toss always stems some inner competition to who will score the goal to send the bears flying. My pick is Zane Jones. Jones is the only ‘Cane to have scored a TBT goal before, ironically, it came against the Hurricanes.

Defense Key: The Hurricanes give up a lot of shots and have only out shot an opponent once this year. The ‘Canes will have to limit the Rebels offense’s chances in the offensive zone…. that includes keeping Sheen at bay!

Red Deer Point of View

Sheen Returns: Not even a week after, Riley Sheen will make his first of three appearances back at the ENMAX Centre tonight. Sheen was dealt to Red Deer earlier this week for d-man Devan Fafard and forward Brayden Burke. In his first two games with the Rebels, Sheen has scored two goals and two assists along plus-2 rating.

Balanced Attack: With the addition of Sheen to their line up, the Rebels now have a pretty balanced attack up front. Three players, Sheen, Wyatt Johnson and Scott Feser are tied for the team lead with 27 points.
