Dustin Forbes is the Broadcast and Communications Manager and Play By Play Broadcaster of the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the Western Hockey League.
The 2017-2018 campaign was Dustin’s fourth with the Hurricanes and tenth season of play by play overall. He can be heard broadcasting all Hurricanes regular season and playoff games on Rogers Radio, 106.7 ROCK in Lethbridge.
Prior to being hired by the Hurricanes in August of 2014, Dustin spent one season with the Cowichan Capitals of the British Columbia Hockey League in 2013-2014 after one year with the La Ronge Ice Wolves of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.
Before he moved on to Junior-A, Dustin worked four seasons in Junior-B hockey calling games for the Richmond Sockeyes of the Pacific Junior Hockey League for two seasons and the Comox Valley Glacier Kings of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League for two seasons.
Dustin is a graduate of the Broadcast Journalism program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology where he obtained a Diploma of Technology in Broadcast and Media Communications and Broadcast and Online Journalism.
During his time at BCIT, in addition to his play by play duties with the Sockeyes, Dustin also hosted pre-and-post games and intermissions with the then, WHL’s Chilliwack Bruins for the 2010/11 season. He also interned at Rogers Sportsnet Pacific covering the Vancouver Canucks and the BC Lions. He also interned at CKNW 980, CHEK-TV Sports in Victoria, as well as The Zone at 91.3 working with Marlon Martens on the Victoria Royals broadcasts.
Dustin was also the voice of the 2012 and 2013 British Columbia Junior “B” Provincial tournament, the Cyclone Taylor Cup.
